CICS Loomis Primary, in partnership with Loews Chicago Hotel and Big City Readers recently unveiled their brand-new school library!
The new library, made possible by the generous support of Loews Chicago Hotel and community partner Big City Readers, provides students with access to a rich collection of books and a vibrant learning space. Loews Chicago Hotel, through its Good Neighbor program, donated both books and materials through DonorsChoose to create this inspiring library. Students gasped as they entered the room, excited to see the beautiful space, and enjoyed a special storytime led by Miss Beth of Big City Readers.
“We are incredibly grateful to Loews Chicago Hotel and Big City Readers for their commitment to our young students and their dedication to fostering a love of reading,” says JoeAnn Nash, Principal of CICS Loomis. “The library will be a treasured resource for our school community, providing endless opportunities for learning and exploration.”
First Grade Mentor Teacher Brunette Howard’s first graders got to explore the reimagined space and books, with plenty of different seating options and stories meant to inspire all of our learners. “This partnership has been a testament to the power of community collaboration,” shares Mrs. Howard. “I never dreamed this could really be possible, but thanks to Donors Choose, Loews Chicago Hotel, Big City Readers, and our community, we are able to provide an exciting new space for our children to discover the joy of reading.”
Thank you to Mrs. Howard, Loews, and Big City Readers for making this dream come to life!
